Hey all, I just installed a Smith's electronic tach. Got it dialled in and I think it's reading correct now. Lol. Have my idle at about 800 and less when its in gear (auto)

Not 100% sure it's reading correct at speed though. When I'm going about 75/80kph it's at about 4k rpm. Sound about right? This is on the 998 with the standard auto diff. Last time I had a mini with a tach was a 1275 long ratio diff one so I'm not too sure. Where should I have the red line (lol) set to? Currently at 4k rpm but at the above cruising speed it seems to already sit on it.

I think my speedo reads 10mph too high.

so at 60mph its reading 4200 RPM.

A MiniMatic with 10" wheels is about 14.7MPH/1000rpm.
The diff ratio is a 3.26"1, however the drop gears are 1.15:1, not 1:1 like a manual is.
So, therefore overall ratio is 3.76:1.Your tacho and speedo pretty much agree.
