Hi all.

Is it possible to prime the oil pump by jacking up the front of the car and turning one of the wheels backwards whilst in 4th?

Garage is small so I can't really roll it back far...

Yes, jack 1 side up and put the handbrake on. Works fine. Also good for adjusting the rockers, etc.

Thanks doc. Will give it a go.

So I shortly found out can't do it with both wheels of the ground. Something to do with the diff I take.

That is correct. It needs 1 wheel on the deck, unless you are running an LSD.

Done.

For future reference, all this priming stuff also helps diagnose if you have a stuck clutch plate (which I didn't but thought I had with 2 noob wheels of the ground). If the wheel freely turns backwards without resistance, it could be that the clutch plate is stuck due to long term storage.
