Post subject:  Cooling Systems Explained

There's nothing here that isn't relevant to the mini's cooling system, except the idea of the nozzle directing water onto the valve seat, that's just good design, and they don't talk about the role of the thermostat directly, except by inference.

Otherwise the design is exactly the same. The conversation about preferential cooling to provide specific temperatures at certain points is interesting as well as it shows that there's specific engineering in the water jacket shape and placement, not just guess work. They were very clever people.

I've not seen the water flow described in that way, as moving the length of the block, and returning through the head, but this is how it moves in our cars as well even if the outlet of the block is four inches above the inlet.
