Flicking through The Age today and saw a story about the serial rapist Adrian Bailey, Then was shocked when I saw a picture of the interior of my car! it is a photo that i took myself about 2 years ago an uploaded to photobucket, but the caption claims it is the car he owned in 2000. I guess there Isn't much i can do about it, seeing as if have posted it on public forums? (on here in a rides thread and corolla forum rollaclub.com)

you own the photo, they published it without your permission and in connection with a violent criminal - I'd be pretty f*cking pissed off about that

I saw a photo of him sitting inside a mini in one of the articles,
made me feel bad that such a scum bag is/was associated with mini's.

If I were you I would contact them and ask for an apology to be printed in the paper at the very least.

So clearly the paper has just found a similar minis interior (yours) and claimed it is the murderers car. Unbelievable. I wonder where you stand legally in a case like this.

There is a photo of him restoring a mini in the article winabby has posted.

He may even be a forum member.

I am definitely going to send them an email, but i assume as the photo has been in the public domain posted on forums i doubt i will get anything out of them other than an "Ooops, sorry".
It is downright lazy journalism if you ask me. They must have just done a Google search and said "that'll do".

The photo belongs to you. Just because you have posted it on a forum does not give them the right to use it without your approval.

You should send them a bill for the photo based on commercial rates.

If you have a lawyer friend I would ask them what they thought, surely there's something you can get from this.
In a world gone lawyer crazy you may as well try.

You could pass it along to the ABC Media watch programme.

You have published a picture of YOUR car on the internet, these dopes used a picture of YOUR car in a scum of the earth story...if you are sure that said SotE was not a past owner...then seek a retraction and/or apology for associating YOU with SCUM :(
