Ok , car wrapping seams to be the trend now days a long with the spray on vinyl removable paints
was thinking about changing the appearance of my car
wouldn't mind having the roof changed to a different colour
rather than painting it I was thinking of having it wrapped and maybe a couple of stipes on the bonnet
that way if I don't like it I can take it off with no damage done
the problem is WHAT COLOR ?
the car is snow white with black trim
don't want green , black or burgundy
was thinking blue , light or dark ?
What is your opinion
who can photo shop

PS PINK is not an option

I'd have a good talk to someone who actually does wrapping as I'm thinking the seams and hinges might be a bit of a problem - if not then all good :-)

If you do a YouTube search for "mighty car mods wrap" and check out the job they did on Moogs S2000. I love the blue they used.

ba_dm_tsh
only want to do the roof and maybe a stripe on each side of the bonnet
would this be a difficult job do you think

If you want blue, How about XC Falcon Cobra stripes.

Hi Mark

From what I've seen, the new wraps that 3M are making now are very easy to apply. They even have micro holes to let air bubbles out. You'll need a heat gun to get the wrap to shrink around the edges of the roof just don't get so close that you burn it and don't try to stretch it as you'll change the colour and it will shrink back in the sun. Just make sure you're getting new 3M stock that has "3M Comply" technology which is the air release stuff.

For bonnet stripes, again check out MCM on YouTube as they did a pretty good how-to when they put a stripe on the S2000. There are heaps of other vids on YouTube on how to apply wrap too but I like watching the MCM guys.

If you're getting a company to wrap it then you should be all good :-)

Make sure you post pics once you're done :-) and good luck!

The only worry I would have is the difference in fade between the covered and uncovered sections.
Should be alright on a Snow White car though.

Buy it from alibaba by far the cheapest option. Comes in rolls of 5m+

Make sure is the perforated type; hard to stuff up!!!

You will need to make sure it is a cast film. While the polymeric film is ok for your flat to medium curves cast is the most conformable. As mentioned it must have the air release or you will do your head in trying to get it looking good. After application the film needs to be heat set with a hot air gun this aids in the normalising of the film and setting it in place. Like all things preparation of the surface is paramount. You will find all the information you would need at this site
