Okay so ANOTHER centre exhaust mount busted.

This time it split the rubber not the metal.

I know how it happened and given the circumstances it is not something i wouldnt have expected to happen.

Just letting you know.

PS what are centre mounts worth these days??

Yeah i was flexing mega hard thru a roundabout and yeah the power off and then power back on must have flexed the system bit too much.
Time for a flexi-joint in the system methinks!

I'd be interested in some of that, is it expensive?

Will Gormly, if you would stop trying to run over every cat, pot hole and tree branch in the neihbourhood your exhaust mount would last heaps longer

The way you drove past the workshop today and yesterday...
I'm not surprised it broke.

I was having heaps of trouble with the standard mini stuff. It's ridiculous, i mean the system looks like it's only designed with lateral give in it, even though being a front wheel drive, all the movement in the zorst is front to back!!!

We solved the problems by fitting 2 new mounts. the Middle is the Diamond shaped rubber block with two holes allowing front to back movement easily (off a volvo - not the greatest description and i don't have a photo sorry).

The back was done with two commodore (and probably countless other modern cars) style figure 8 rubber hooks. Simple, effective, and if I do break them, they're cheap as chips to replace (actually carry spares!!)
