Hi everyone. I have a bright red 78 Leyland mini restored to original condition. After a recent spill, requiring a door replacement, the repairer attempted to fit new plastichrome to Betty. The stuff buckled - twice. We've sought expert advice and so far have been unable to sort out how to apply the stuff without it buckling in tight curves. Does anyone have any advice tips or tricks? Thanks in advance. |

Usually leave it out in the sun for a while or a heat gun/hair dryer to warm it while you are applying it. You must also have your tongue in just the right place. |

This has been covered several times over the years. Here's a link to a thread that has other links to other threads. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=84342 AWisey - the search function works well on here and there's a wealth of information to help you on other things Mini should you need it. If you can't find what you are after then feel free to ask. ![]() |

Warm/heat the outside of curve, this allows the strip to 'stretch' rather than wrinkle. In saying that, best of luck, you'll need it, it's a bugger of a job. |
