The 12V Bosch coil (for TD-02E distributor from 79-82 Civic) is reading about 0.9 ohms across the + and - terminals (and about 6Kohms across secondary). Is it time for a new one? Would anyone know what a replacement part for the below would be? I believe it's off a VN Commodore?. From what I've researched, it has to be a high energy coil. Is this correct?

AFAIK, any old regular coil will do.

I'm using the original 1969 Lucas coil from my 1100S currently on my mini, which is fitted with a modified Honda (Hitachi) dizzy...no dramas at all.

cheers,

Jacob

Any coil preferably 3 ohm will do. I had a Honda>Mini one here for a while, it worked fine with a Bosch GT40 (3 ohm) coil.

Thanks for the input fellas. Think i will just get the red one from Accuspark. Sure looks faster!

Whilst researching ignition systems and mods, the stealthy blackbox conversion looks good. Would this work with the Honda dizzy? It's more affordable than Nodiz although their Android and Bluetooth functions bring out the geek in me. :)

Accuspark stealth black box works with any dizzy that has an electronic module and the advance locked solid. Mick reckons it would probably even work with points.
I'm just using a 43D with a Powerspark module, and a GT40R (the old oil filled ) coil.
