Hi folks,
After what seems like eons I have decided to dip my toe into the world of the humble mini yet again.

I have always regretted selling my rusty lil roundnose and the engine, brakes and other parts I'd managed to collect.
While I understand that Clubmans are a popular choice for many, I simply cannot go past the lovely roundnose for my number one choice in vehicle. Having said that they seem to be pretty thin on the ground for the sort of money I have to play with. What I am trying to work out is whether it is worth my while considering doing a roundnose conversion to a clubman. I have seen that there are fibreglass flip fronts available from an Aussie business but as they are listed as race use only I am assuming they would be in no way legal to use on the road (without lots of engineering costs etc) Another option I thought might be a goer was to purchase the various roundnose front panels and fit them to a suitably chopped clubman. From what I can gather as long as I don't mess with the chassis in a major way and only replace the outer panels as such there is a chance I might be ok??

I would really appreciate any help with this folks.

Also, if anyone knows of a roundnose shell going cheap(ish) or for my ultimate wish a roundnose van, please let me know??

Cheers and thanks
Raff

Hi Raff and welcome. I was looking at purchasing one with a glass flip front a few months back but one of the things that turned me off was the engineering side of things. If you add your location to your profile you may get lucky with someone local to you with a roundy van hidden away. Good luck with the search.

Consider me keen mate.

I'd probably need a lil while to get the cash together (really should've had a pile sitting there waiting...) but I am interested for sure.

Now as for my original post, is it in the realm of possibility to convert a clubby to a roundnose by swapping out the outer panels?? I understand some wings may need a trim but apart from that??
