Hi all I'm having a bit of trouble removing the door hinges from the newly acquired 76 rust bucket, specifically the segment that attaches to the body. Advice is greatly appreciated. Eiles |

7/16 socket, swivels, extensions, spanners.. Its a crap of a job eiles. .. There is two bolts/nut under the wheel arch per hinge. Bottom ones are easy.. top ones are hard. |

If you're just looking to get the doors off you can always centre punch and drill out the hinge pins too. |

A 1/4" Sidchrome Socket set is the greatest toolset you can own when you are doing work on Minis. This is certainly one of those jobs. |

If you're really lucky, once you dig all the dirt out from behind and finally get some purchase on the nut, the little 1/4" studs will just shear, and the hinges will literally fall off. Tim |

Regardless it can be repaired via various methods. |

If youre scrapping the shell why not cut the A-panel off, then they're easy to remove. |

I remember when I took my door hinges off my 76 clubby. I wish i had known it wasn't an actual bolt but a nut and a stud. 6 hours of swearing later, I figured it out why the socket wasn't seating on the nut... |
