Just a quick note that Cartorque TV did filming yesterday for an episode on the Broadhead Families' cars and racing.
There was an extensive interview with Leffo and Mark and should be fantastic episode.
Its great to listen to the older drivers and their way of articulating things.
They also filmed at Eastern creek, a shame they have to condense it all to 5.5 minutes.
Will post when the air date is set.
They have done some great stories already.

They also have a youtube channel

Yes but if they interviewed them in depth it wouldnt be only 5 minutes. I have sat and chatted to Leffo for ages and only just touched on some stories of his racing. Just wondering if they would have an uncut version of the interviews that they may smack up on youtube

I had a chat with the director and he has said he has had requests from a few of the interviewees to cut a longer version of the captured footage. I reckon he could easily do an hour segment between Leffo , Mark and the Eastern Creek stuff.
Interestingly 5.5mins is some sort of international standard for a tv segment time so there show can be picked up anywhere around the world.
Although I have had many mini chats, we were mesmerised by Leffo for probably an hour of his interview.
His most succinct and memorable comment for me was 'back then racing cars was a sport' it conversely describes most contemporary 'motorsport' and is kind of a window into what it must have been like to race back then. Nowadays most motor'sport' is a business.

Jeez i wish i remembered the story about that car. Pretty sure he had a turbo in it in 1964 or something with his own wastegate. Ran it on ken waggots dyno and got mid-100's hp before it blew up haha
Cant remember the names of the crew helping him (guys standing in the picture)

I have it on reasonably reliable authority that Mark and Leffo segment goes to air at 3 pm on ch 10 this Saturday.
If you miss it I am sure it will be posted on the CarTorque TV website and YouTube channel.

I don't know if we should nominate MB for a bronze Logie but I reckon it'll be good viewing!

Cheers Ben
