that's why you wear stringback leather driving gloves when twirling a wooden steering wheel silly

I had a MotoLita leather (redone in vinyl) one in Ha-Ha but now run a SAAS Chinese made `fakewood' one.
Guess what- the wood one is more comfortable!
I just worry it will spear me in an accident- I bet there's no metal inside that rim except for the spokes.. :?

The timber wheels certainly look good but I was told they are illegal so I went with a chrome spoked wheel with black leather. I've been told that technically it's illegal too.

I think you will find neither are illegal on an early Mini with the old bus wheel, that wasn't padded anyhow.

It might look good but you are missing two screws out of it.
