What can I clean up a tacho with that won't stuff up the workings?
Sometimes my needle doesn't want to return to 0.
Tapping on it fixes it but I want to fix the problem before it breaks.

Edit, Weapons of choice are (CO Contact cleaner, Lectra clean, Silicone spray, WD40)

Have you looked inside yet? Might be something really obvious like a bit of dirt or sticky crud.
Be aware but, you might find the little hamster that spins it round might be sick, have a broken leg or worst of all his walking frame might be jambing something. :-)

Haven't pulled it apart. Just seeing what people have used in the past to clean and lubricate it with.

DO NOT spray anything in there unless you know what you are doing

Keep it away from workbenches if you open it (recommend newspaper on Laundry Bench or Kitchen table)
