One of the last things left to do on my mini is to re chrome the bumper, under riders and bumperettes, only thing is I wish I didn't bother repairing them and just bought new ones. I cant believe how much rechroming costs. Its not like there a little mobs in every suburb helping to keep the prices down. Has anyone come across or seen something sprayed chrome before? Its not your typical one can spray chrome, This stuff on ebay seems to be amazing..but of coarse.. it always looks amazing on ebay and their websites. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Do-It-Yourself-Spray-On-Chrome-Metalizing-Kit-Spray-Gun-Spray-Metal-Plating-/111323993602 I don't expect it to look 100% but im more than happy to get 90% out of it for a few years at least until I can afford to re chrome them or buy new ones. |

I have used shadow chrome 2pak paint. I did my wheels with it. It was a product made by glasurit. Basically you chose the base coat grey depending on the shadow effect you want. The darker you go, the more shadow effect you get. I went a very light grey on my wheels. Then you apply the silvery chrome coat. It is almost transparent, all it does itis add the repreflection. Then i used normal 2pak clear over the top. I assume that these ebay ones are similar Setup. The only thing you need to remember is that any tiny imperfection will be magnified by the paint. So make sure you spend plenty of time getting the preparation right first. I 2pack high fill primed my wheels and rubbed them back smooth. It made a massive difference to the quality of finish. I hope that this helps. |

Your wheel look schmick. Not sure if its the photo or not but they don't look "chrome" The stuff on ebay is all done with spray bottles, I think you only need to air brush a clear coat or something on, so it doesn't seem like its 2pak. |

You could look into local hydro graphic shops and see if they do chrome dipping, or you could get your bits dipped in a cool graphic to be different. Tsunamihydrographiccoatings.com sell a chrome spray kit starting at $189 |

I have used some. It came out pretty good, clean and even, but it will never look chrome. It's like a shiner silver paint - much better than your standard metallic paints, but you won't see any reflections in it. |

There are systems out there for spraying on a chrome finish like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V_2dhklg4E If it is one of them I would be interested too. If you try it out let us know how it goes. |

I'm very interested in this. Look at Jay Lenos videos on YouTube, he show a similar product from chrome solutions. Irish Yobbo, is it the same product on eBay that you used? Or something similar? Can you tell us more about your experience with spray chrome? The also spray chrome and shadow chrome are different effects. Spray chrome is intended to look like plating, shadow chrome is ment to look darker. |

The stuff I used was a single spray can job, so not as fancy as this seems. This is the stuff. I just found a video for it on youtube which give s you an idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLsXf8mW-q8 I had better results than this, but as I said, it will never pass of as chrome. But maybe the ebay option is better. |
