Anyone know anything about these Webers? Looking at their $360 carb on eBay as my mate had had trouble dialing in the current 45. Thought I'd start from 'new'.

As an update we had Barney spinning like a top on the dyno and then dropped a cylinder. Head coming off and going is a burnt valve or head gasket.

GR has showed me some Chinese 45s, says they are very well made (they look it), and the downdraft ones are used on a lot of race Mazda rotaries now.
OTOH, the recent Spanish ones......

@gtogreen, IMO weberperformance are just protecting their patch.

Old mate from procarb tells me the fajs is just as good. Chux is yours definitely one of these $350 deals? I get the same sense about Weber Performance doc.

I've spoken to the weber guy a few times. He seems a crusty old so and so.
Was closing down his Sydney operation and centering all in melb when I spoke to him.

Hey Chux, I've been having dramas with my weber on the clubman, it dies when coming to a stop and sometimes it won't restart after, the plugs are black as the ace of spades , I'm taking it a carbureter specialist in Blacktown this Friday. But to save some hassle do you know the specs of what jets etc you have?

Why not pull the carb off and take it around to GR's for advice?
Sounds like the idle jets may be too big.
I run a Dellorto 45DHLA not a Weber but jetting is very similar.
I have 52 idle jets, 180 air correctors, 170 main jets. Pump jets 50. Chokes are 36mm. When I had 38 chokes in, mains were 175.

[edit] the jets you have may have been drilled out previously, depending who set the carb up...! Check....

I got mine from Matt R but i'm pretty sure it's exactly the same. Uses genuine Weber jets / chokes etc though.

I have no idea what it has in it anymore Dave sorry. I can pull them all out and let you know if you like?

Call Greig at mini classic and book it in with him to tune it.
Pay the money and have it done right, rather than trying to get a guy that doesn't know minis to sort it out.
Greig will do it right.
