I am needing to wire in a electric fuel pump and my car does not have a feed wire in the boot. I was wondering if i could run a wire from the tail light as the power feed. (i know the park light switch would need to be on but this could be a security device) Or what about splicing in on the fuel sender feed wire. I know i should just run a wire from the fuse box to the back. Thoughts Kiwiinwgtn |

You already have power in the boot, it is the battery. All you need to to is hook up a relay in the boot to run the pump and then run a switch from on the dash to earth the relay. |

Or relay onto the parkers and battery. |

Oops. Should have mentioned I was hoping not have to run a wire to a switch. So if I connect to the tail light's. Turn them on and you power the fuel pump. I would use a relay as noted by Gtogreen |

Can't you just run a cable from the +ve side of the coil. Yes, it involves running a cable but it will only operate when the coil is powered up (ign on). |

Sounds like your trying to become a volvo driver...day running lights! ![]() ![]() Like Gtogreen said, use a relay in the boot with the main power straight from the battery. The relay should only pull approx 500mA from the tail lights circuit, which shouldn't be an issue! Cheers Shane |

The longest way is usually the best safest way. and don't forget to use an inline fuse closest to the power source. |
