 Post subject: burping smokeing mini

Started boris up yesterday after not haveing driven him for a week or so,a cloud of white smoke came billoweing out from the exhaust,it kept smokeing for a while and i started to get a bit worried,he hasnt really don this before,its kind of a white grey colour,hr is also makeing burping sounds while idalling,iv been told that this is ptetty normal,it was a cold wet day :idea: to most peaple these things may seem a bit mundain :roll:

Indeed.

Would just be condensation in your system, thats steaming up as its getting hot by the exhaust.

Let it run for a good 5 mins before driving... clear up the water.

Had a similiar problem. Played with engine for a while then gave up and took it up to LINK. Turned out had a hole in the head gasket. Check for oil or crap in the radiaitor or as the others have said run it a bit may clear up good luck!!! :D

I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but if your car sits for a while, and your valve stem seals or valve guides are stuffed, oil can seep down the valve and into the combustion chamber....then burn when the car is started.

I am no expert, so shoot me down in flames if I am incorrect :?

when i first got boris i was told that he had this problem with the valve oil thing with the stem,think it was fixed how would this afect my mini
