Post subject:  immobiliser key

there is an immobiliser on my mini and it has been there since I bought it. the thing is I only have one key/plug thing for it. so if i loose it or it gets damaged...i wont be able to start the car
So today i traced the imobiliser back to where the actual box is and I found the brand is DYNAMICO australia. something like that - but now i cant seem to find on the net or anywhere the actual brand/company. So how do i get another key thing for it if i dont even know where the immobiliser actually came from?
has anyone heard of this brand?
Cheers.

I haven't heard of that brand, do you have a manual for it?
What do you mean by key/plug?
Some alarms have switches that turn off the siren by a small round key, is that it,
or do you mean the button that turns it on or off?

There is usually an override for immobilisers, in case you lose your key/plug or remote. On my one, which is a remote operated one, you 'key' (pardon the pun) in a code by turning the key to ignition after a specified number of blinks of the immobiliser light. My one is a 4 digit code. On the last turn, it starts the car.

However, I don't know if you can do the same thing with key/plug type immobilisers. Even if you could, you would need to contact the manufacturer for a code (which may or may not be possible to get the code required for your particluar immobiliser, and they change). But if you can't even contact the manufacturer... You got no hope. I've never head of Dynamico, personally.

Its just a small round plastic thing that you push into the flashing hole thing inorder to start your car.

I have no manual for it as it was installed on the car before i bought it.

do dont have the number of the people you bought it off? maybe they will have the booklet for it still???

failing that, call every immobiliser company until you find one that can tell you maybe where it came from/who made it

Failing that just take out the plug / switch or what ever it is and replace it with a a new one??
A mate of mine has a suzuki seirra and his immobiliser is a old school head phone jack...
Without the jack in the plug the car no go....
