Hi Guys i am fitting 1.3 to1 roller rockers to my 1275 Cooper S motor.The seller told me that I may need pedestal spacers.I bought them anyway,can anybody help me with the installation of the rockers ie the spacers.

Hi Kath.
The roller should sit in the centre of the valve stem at half lift.
If you bought a small bore 1.3 setup then you will need to shim the exhaust rockers away from the pedestal.
Pedestal shimming is usually done after decking the block and head. This machining effectively lengthens the pushrods and can put your rockers at an angle. If you are using a reground cam then you will get some of the original height back.
If setup wrong the tip of the rocker will move to the edge of the valve stem at full lift and wear out the valve and guide faster.

Brad thanks for that. The motor is Cooper S,The head a block have been decked & the cam ground.I will make all the checks you have suggested as I put them on.
