Hi There I have a calcium type battery in my Mini Moke and was wondering what the correct charging voltage for this type of battery should be. I checked the out put from the dynamo and it was 18-19v. (Need to find my analogue Mulitimeter). Yikes. Swapped out the regulator and its back to 12.6v to 13.2v. Is this a little low for a calcium battery. Have read it should be 14.6V range so i cranked up the voltage to this level and now wondering if i have done the correct thing. Head lights increase in brightness when rev'd up, indicator falshes a little quicker and it seams to run a little smoother. any input would be apprecaited Ta Kiwiinwgtn. |

With Dynamos it is always a problem as they do not charge at Idle. Sounds like you have a crook regulator unit as it is going way too high. Probably time to change to an Alternator. |

I would aim for 14V - 14.6 is getting a bit high. My old alternator was delivering 14.5V, but my last battery (lead acid) only lasted about 2 years, and I think that might have contributed. My current alternator does pretty much bang-on 14V, and I'm using a calcium battery. I've had both for about 4 years with no drama. |

Had a simular thought today and reduced the voltage to 13.9v to be safe |
