Just thought I would start a thread of specialist tools we use, either made up or purchased. This one is for doing CV nuts and is an old brake brum with 2 holes drilled through it. ![]() Purchased a grease gun adaptor for non greaseable ball joints. Syringe is for putting 140W oil under the steering boots. Heat shrinking attachment for MIG welder (clamp onto welding tip, disengage wire feed, set V to max, squeeze trigger to heat). ![]() ![]() Pot joint removal tool, use with BFH: ![]() Split collet tool for idler bearing removal. Also works on top arm bearings: ![]() [edit] I have since made a similar one, for 13/16" bore rear trailing arm needle bearings. Split collet tool for outrigger bearing ring removal: ![]() Holding tool for front hub and balljoint reassembly. Can use on car to undo hub nut. Has had other uses in the past, that's why all the holes. ![]() ![]() Hydro bag test rig, used with my home made hydro pump: ![]() Home made hydro pump- a Mini clutch MC on a Fiat pedal box with 2x Mini front hoses. They all have a bleed valve. This one uses a small knob in the gauge block. Others have a larger separate bleed off knob. I used this style of pump for many years testing aviation fuel hoses. Not much to go wrong and the seals are replacable in the hand pump. |

It caused a lot of controversy at the time (to weld or not to weld), but a lot of people have got use out of my engine lifting bracket, photos in the how to section. |
