I have read the 'how to' on this here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=55421 It isn't really a step by step guide on how to make one which would be good as it leaves a number of unanswered questions from people at the time. -Is the pole best at around 13' long to allow room to move or slide car back and forward depending on where you are working? -What height does the pole need to be off the ground to allow a full rotation? -Do you put long bolts through where the front sub-frame was mounted and where do you mount the rear? Looks like DrMini had bolts through back seat, others under the parcel shelf and some onto rear suspension mounts? I would appreciate any advice or closer pics before my welding mate makes me one. Cheers. |

The pole needs to be at least as high as the longest distance from the middle of the mini to the edge. I believe 40" inches will be enough, as I have seen plans before with this measurement. |

I have done a few different styles of mounting the pipe. For the early minis I have the std pole right through the length of the car and for the late minis without the cutouts in the firewall/rear seat I made up some frames that mount to the top of the bulkhead and down to the tie rod/front sub frame mounts and the rear is on top of the rear shock towers and to the rear seatbelt mounts on the parcleshelf.
