Hey everyone, just had my account reinstated after about 10 years away. My mini has been off the road for that time but it is now time to get it back on the road again. This is going to be my christmas leave (and a bit of long service leave) project. Ill be back to asking heaps of questions about which part fits with what etc.

It started as a mini matic that I bought when I was 15 (now 42) and has had a couple of iterations in that time.

Have a look at this link to check out pics but imagine in all dusty and with stuffed tyres ;)

I'm currently in Canberra, the mini is on the Sunshine coast in my oldies shed and I will be moving to Melbourne at the end of the year.

Cheers.

Hi all, finally got my 1978 Mini Van over to Tasmania from NSW and loving it. Lots to do but all very familiar as my first brand new car was a 1975 Leyland 1100S which I had for 3 years.
Plenty to keep me busy getting it how I want, but a very good starting place.
Pics below from 1975 and 2022

Hi all

My name is Terry, and I'm located in Newcastle NSW.

My first car was a 77 Clubman, which I bought back in 1998. It was thoroughly neglected by the previous owner and fair to say it was clapped out all round (but I still loved it!). At the time, I bought an A+ 1275 from Lincoln (Newcastle Mini Wreckers) and had it rebuilt by a company in Blacktown (Turbo Minis?).

Then came an opportunity to buy an all original, one owner 69 K. Had it for a couple of years, but when an oversize 4WD decided to reverse into my front and broke down on the freeway coming from Sydney.. my interest turned to something far more boring. What I wouldnt give for either of these cars now!

20 years later (last August), I found another 69 K - Chilli. Its an older restoration that needed some love but nothing too serious. Just love driving at every opportunity (unless its raining of course!).

Recently joined the Hunter Region Morris Owners Club.. they're a great bunch and a big shout out to John Sneddon in particular - thanks for all your help and knowledge getting bits and pieces sorted. If you're in the Newcastle/Hunter area, recommend joining!

Hi everyone I have been out of the mini scene for about 10 years after selling our last 1964 850. I recently had the opportunity to purchase another 1962 850 to continue my mini journey. Its stock standard 850 with all matching numbers but im looking for a bit more in the engine department. Hopefully ill take delivery next weekend, its great to be back.

Hi all, my name is Dan. My Dad and I bought a Mini for my 21st birthday back in 2002 and gave it a bit of a renovation. We were total novices so it was never very reliable and it sat in his garage ever since. With the abundance of info and tutorials online now I've recently moved it to my garage and have rebuilt the suspension, brakes, steering, cooling, etc with the intention of joining a club and getting out to some cruises. I just need to ask a few annoying questions to put it back together correctly, thanks and sorry in advance :D

Here's my 78 Mini Van, past and present

Howdy.

I'm Samuel and I've got a confession... I neglected my Minis a bit too long. Two weeks ago I dragged Elvis the 998cc Executive Grey Deluxe out of the shed and, unsurprisingly, found that two wheel cylinders were seized and the clutch master cylinder seal was stuffed. Sorted that and drove it Sunday just gone for the first time since 2019.

While I was at Dad's on Friday night, my wife spotted Percy, my Porcelain Green 850 sitting in the corner of Dad's shed, last driven in 2007 when it spat most of it's oil out of it's engine but I had no money or time to fix it. She suggested I get it back on the road. Tonight, for the first time in 17 years, after an hour or so of playing around, Percy started and ran. Ignore the grille, doors and stone tray, it IS an 850 body, someone put Deluxe stuff on it back in the 90s, I've got the right bits to go on and have had them for 20 years or so, and it's got an 1100 in it.
