Hi everyone

I bought my 1970 Mini K years ago but stalled in the recon at the tear down stage. The current events have brought me back to putting her back together again.

Hi all,

I used to be active on here - been off for a few years. Life got busy.

A big thanks to Doug who re-activated my account!

Currently only own one mini a 1969 MK2 Cooper S. I owned 3 at my peak Mini ownership, all three had / have cages and racing orientated with the quickest a Group Nb race car.

Hope to have some fun online with you all again, and hopefully start doing some events again.

Cheers,

Kuzzy

My car is already on the register here, but I have not visited for some time. BMC 008. 1969 Mkll. Special burgundy, parchment interior.

It is well documented in several places; an article in Mini Experience, and in Survivor Cars, as well as a short youtube video done by Prime 7 News last year.

I bought it brand new, and it remains unmolested and running well, road registered. For the record, it has always been in my possession, and in fact nobody else has ever driven the car, even briefly. Unless the serviceman did at its first P & R Williams service in June 1969.

It was well stored in the 1980s to 2007, - after which I recommissioned it, requiring minimal attention. The engine, transmission, clutch, CV joints all remain untouched from new.

In the last few years it has been driven to Hay, Kurri Kurri, Tamworth and numerous shorter trips to local shows and displays. Not once having any issue.
Nothing has been upgraded, it retains the original SU fuel pump, and (refurbished) cast iron water pump.

I would be very keen to hear from anybody that has a Cooper S that they bought new and have owned continuously.

Hi all,

I'm new to the Morris Mini although I have previously owned a JCW Mini as my daily driver, not sure that counts though. I have always been a lotus person but the opportunity came up to purchase a 1970 MK2 Cooper S. It's Blue with white roof, I think its powder blue, the same colour as the one that sold at the Shannons auction recently.

My daily drive is a Lotus Evora S and have a track-focused Elise (Honderised) which is a fair bit of fun. Now that the border has opened I can finally arrange a time to get down NSW to pick up the car. I will post some photos when I get the car back to Qld.

Wow, Evora AND an Elise-Honda...please be gentle with the Cooper S and don't expect power to be as exciting as the Loti! Fáilte!

Hi all,

I’ve just gotten back into minis after a long absence (30 years).
Currently own two Leylands;
1973 Clubman GT, &
1976 Clubman (project car) which will be my “daily” driver.
I’m looking forward to getting out & about in my minis.

Welcome Steve. There's a strong Mini representation on the Apple Isle so you should have the support of many others on events or garage work.

30 years, eh? Of course we all know that once infected with the Mini virus it's impossible to get rid of it completely.

Are your GT's details on the GT Register? If not and you agree I can arrange the addition. Just send me a PM me and we can discuss.

Hi Becca - welcome aboard Ausmini. Plenty of people here to help you along the way to getting "Baby" back on the road.

By the way, I suggest you change the text font colour on the About page of your website. The white text disappears into the white notebook page background making it unreadable. ;)

Winabby, thanks! I'm still getting used to the platform. I'll change the colour.

Hello.

I'm Ruski.

Mini owner now for about 10 hours. Already looking for an inlet manifold.

No stranger to that. Anyone who walks past my driveway now will be thinking ...

Hi all, a reintroduction for me.
I already have Cooper S MK1 #1799 as a start, now I have just purchased a 1964 Mini Cooper 998 as a project.
For reference it is car #4365 the last one currently listed on the register, it is all still matching number, and I am looking forward to bringing it back to life.
It was last registered in Victoria in 1985

Hey Guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I don't have a mini yet but I've wanted one for 20 years but theres always been a reason not to get one, I'm 30 now so those reasons are running out. Eventually what i want to do is probably import a rover mini from Japan one without airbags to stop further complications down the track. Own that for a couple of years while i plan the stage, id really like to do an AWD either B or K series swap, i fully expect to spend $50k+ on this car so I'm up for the challenge. In the meantime i keep lurking and gathering ideas.

G'day all, I'm Travis, currently living in Canberra. I owned a 1965 Morris Mini and a Leyland S (can't remember what year) when I was much younger. Have just purchased a 1968 Morris Cooper S Mk1 with a Mk2 engine and have joined the ACT Mini Club. Looking forward to catching up with fellow owners and enthusiasts.
