For those that have wrapped their headers in fiberglass wrap. Did you paint your exhaust in high heat paint first?
I want to avoid any rusting under the wrap.

I am thinking about wrapping mine. They're ceramic coated, but almost because of that I thought about wrapping them - I figure the ceramic coating will prevent rust under the wrap and coating plus wrap should work doubly well.

From what I hear ceramic coating is the way to go. I thought I might try the cheap way out first. The wrap is only $9 and $15 for the paint. I mainly want to drop the engine bay temp and Interested to see if there is any performance increase from better gas flow as well. Not sure if the wrap will cause the headers to overheat and melt. Some people have very good results others have bad. Anyway if I melt them it will give me an excuse to buy new ones and have them ceramic coated.

Painted or not, the pipes will eventually corrode under the wrap. The wrap holds the heat in, the headers will be red hot all the way down due to no external air cooling.
I'd ceramic coat then leave them alone.

Had mine done by HPC in September last year. Three piece maniflow LCB cost $288 inc return postage and GST to give you an idea of cost. I mailed mine to them and got it back a week or two later. My last set done by them were good as new for years.

The sad part about ceramic coating is that the extractors will never look as good after the first time you start the engine...
But it is much better than heat proof paint.

Maybe not as shiny but my last set were still silver with no rust after a few years of daily driving. I did wonder though if it would have looked better in black.
