Hi everyone,
I hooked up a slave cylinder (that I know works) today, and as the pedal wasnt seized thought I would see if it would bleed up. I am not getting any fluid past the master cylinder. It is full, I even syringed some into the union where the pipe goes. I had everything done up as it should be, and slave cylinder and hose was full with fluid before attachinch. There is no sign of leaking from under the dash. When I put my finger over the pipe hole and get some one to pump the pedal I can feel a little pressure on the pedal push down ( not much) and on release I feel it sucking my finger. Is this signs of a new master cylinder needed, kit, or am I missing something? I will more than likely have to do the same to my dual master cylinder, so all advice appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve

Master Cylinders can be a pain to prime sometimes. Try disconnecting the output pipe and prime cylinder first. Keep a rag wrapped around it in case of any brake fluid spillage unless you are using Silicone dot5 fluid. Silicone fluid is great , it does not attack paint.

I tried that, pouring fluid down, but no luck, seems strange it's not pumping or leaking from underneath?

There are 2 seals.
The top one may be stuffed, that's the one that generates the pressure.
The bottom one prevents leakage down the piston rod, that one is obviously OK.

When fitting new seals, `bench bleed' it before fitting:
Fill with fluid. Hold vertical, push piston rod in. Put finger over top end, let piston rod retract. Repeat once or twice until you get a flow of fluid out the top. Then fit to car.
