I'm removing front and rear glass and probably sides. I want to put a new front windscreen. Where could I source a claer one? (without the blue tint on top) will put new rubbers on the front and rear screen. Want to remove doors to paint where the hinges go as well. door mirror rubber? should I do that? unfortunately with the timeline I've thoguoht for it I'll be doing paint before I put the engine in. So while the engine is out I'll probably just tidy the engine bay at home myself as I'm not too fussed about that. At the same time I'd like to install a thermo fan and a 6 blade fan just incase. but what other things do you suggest I do while I've got it stripped for paint? Was thinking of doing carpets as its quite worn. was told the uncut non molded one from minisport isnt the best. But dont want to spend a lot for a good set. I need red ones. Seats I've got red cobra lowbacks on order from minisport. front and rear bars I've got on order. tail light lens is new so thats ok. has new grill too. so just a few chrome bits to tidy it up maybe. anything else you suggest? my friend will be doing the painting. I'll just strip the exterior bits and help him as much as I can to prepare for painting. but would rather do small things that I can whilst its apart rather than do it alter and risk scratching the paint (even thouogh the risk is alreaedy there when putting the motor in!!) |

Sounds like you got most things organised. But maybe you would like to take the door strikers off and the door rubbers if you're going to remove the doors totally, this will give you better access to tape up the door apertures. |

I'm taking the doors off as I want to align the doors again afterwards as the drivers side doesnt close smoothly.... ![]() ![]() ![]() no turning back now....... specially when I find my doors have been sealed with toyota plastic lol ![]() How do I remove the door handles? i've got the door card and screws off so that the locking mechanism moves around. But I cant seem to find how to remove the actual handle so he can paint under it too. Do I need to remove the fuel tank to remove the rear light base? or can he just mask it up? the connectors to the back lights are shonky as in while trying to move the wiring so I could get to the nuts the wire to the indicator base broke. LOL nothing a little bit of electrical tape cant fix. Also how do I remove the wipers? I've removed the headlights but I've left the bowls in. wondering if I shouold just get P700 lights at the same time. I removed he front and rear screens. As the rubber is old and I'm replacing them I cut the front up to slide the window out. Rear glass looks fine. I just want to replace the front as its a bit scratched and reflects so much light at night. I've removed both pop out windows on the rear. am I safe to leave (just lower) the door ones? I'm temtped to remove the seats and backboard just incase it gets overspray or what not. And since I'm replacing the seats I'm thinking just pull the passengers side out and drivers side last after I've dropped it off. Then I can just get a cheapy carpet and put it on. Other than that what else should I strip?? I'm tempted to remove the head stabbing bonnet lock and just put a strap. I dont leave it out enough to worry about someone trying to open the bonnet. |

The rear light bases are bolted in from the inside. You'd have to remove the tank to get to the nuts I think. The wipers have a plastic cap which you rotate around to reveal the nut |

is that underneath the actual arm or is the nut the exposed one on top that turns? I've managed to do that but doesnt seem to want to budge |
