Hi all, After discovering that the tyre fitter had over tightened my Contessa wheel nuts, and has stripped some, I have ordered a full set (16) from Mini Kingdom. What is the correct torque setting and can you put anti-seize on the threads, or should they be dry? Cheers, Jim ![]() |

I use 40 ft/lb and the threads are very lightly oiled. |

How are the studs? Might be worthwhile replacing them as well ![]() |

The studs are fine I've checked them closely. The nuts wore the brunt of the brute force. |

I never use a rattle gun I always tighten by hand then use a torque wrench to tighten up I got a call the other week to take off a tyre off a Toyota I needed a 4 foot pipe on the wheel brace to get the nuts off and I bent a brace that was 10 mm rod like a banana Mate wasn't happy as he got new tyres put on 2 days before the flat I haven't seen him to ask if he went to the tyre shop about the very tight nuts |
