I'm trying to find a picture of the mounting location of the turn signal flasher that would be correct for a 1966 Mk1 Cooper S. I looked through the pictures of my car prior to tearing it apart, and that's one detail I don't have. My car's wiring was in pretty bad shape anyway. If you have a good picture of the flasher from a genuine 'S', it would be much appreciated. Cheers! Mark |

From memory, the MK 1 flasher can was bolted underneath the steering column support bracket (chrome one) i.e. the bolts that fix the bracket to the parcel shelf. Not sure if it was attached under the LH or RH nut though. |

From memory it was attached to the left hand nut on the steering column bracket. |

I had a look at my photos and that is one thing I haven't taken a photo of. Here is a photo from Micks car. ![]() |

I didn't think I had an image, and I'm too far away from home to take one, but there you go one exists. Thanks GTO I am not 100 percent certain that is there they go, but the originals had a mounting tag with a 5/16 hole, and with a cable long enough to just reach the column I figured it had to be mounted there somewhere. It also lets the steering bracket amplify the dik-doks to make it a little more discernible above the background din. |

Is there anywhere in Australia which sell the original Lucas 3 pin flasher can as pictured above? |

That one looks cool. Here's the 3 pin metal flasher I purchased. http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Electrics/GFU2103.aspx?09&ReturnUrl=/search/classic/flasher.aspx|Back%20to%20search |

Make sure you get a 12V 42 Watt one, the one pictured on Jolly Rogers shows 21W on the body of the flasher, but the description says 42W. 21W was for some microcars and motorbikes that only had a single flasher. There are also 48W ones - no idea what they are for, and 24V ones for trucks. And last but not least make sure it has the 3 pin connector, instead of the two pin, like the last one I mistakenly bought ![]() Tim |
