The short answer is yes and no. A new late model GT a friend had used the pressed metal rocker arms. Earlier ones (9FXEY engine prefix??) probably used the Cooper S ones. It gets even murkier though. GTs used S motors with 2 different engine number prefixes - 9FXEY and 1200. The later ones used non S motors with 1206 engine number prefixes. The 1200 prefix engines are actually "S' engines as Leyland Australia rationalised the engine number stamping in the early 70s. (just to confuse and mislead?) S motors are UK sourced and the engine numbers were stamped on a metal tag and attached to the engine using push rivets. This is not allowed in OZ so the numbers were then stamped onto the block in the usual place and sometimes the metal tag was then attached to the engine using a bit of string. A MK2 S I had had the original engine number plate attached with string. For the rivet counters, is there a part number for the piece of string? Just joking! To simplify engine number stamping the 9FXEY was replaced with 1200. The Clubman parts book I have (PUB 1052) has info regarding this rationalisation.
