Post subject:  Whole car paint removal, chemical vs blasting ? Help!

I have read previous old threads about this but would like a more up to date view on the subject. If I am doing a full bare metal resto is it better to chemically remove the paint or get it media blasted? My panel shop wants to use chemical because he says you can't get all the soda/sand out of the car and it will keep coming out whilst painting but I have read that if you use chemicals it will strip paint off in areas that you cant then get too to repaint and sections are then left bare to rust. I need help to make a decision. Thanks.

I have just had mine Aqua blasted .
Left an etched surface ready to paint.
Strips all the bog and dead metal out , so be warned ! You'll notice more sunlight in places you didn't count on haha
Down side ? Yup this

Make sure they dry it properly !
I'm still finding sand (and wet sand) in the sills

Other than that I am impressed with the job .sometimes it seem they don't blast everything so check that before pickup

Must have been a "too hard" day as the other pocket was done . Go figure .

Just my experience

Thanks. Is that the same as this "dustless blasting"?

Just water and media mix . Not salvageable , they just dump the sludge after

really not keen on the idea of water blasting if it's going to leave clumps of wet sand in places you can't get to - asking for rust....

what I've heard about acid dipping is that the spot welded seams in minis aren't particularly well sealed so the acid can get between them, clean the paint out, and nothing gets back in there when it's painted. Sealed in and untreated, great...

But, I've also heard that there are places that will acid dip, then dip in a rinse, then dip in a primer. If that primer can get in all of the places that the acid cleaned then that's what I'd be keen on
