Buy as big as you can afford, you'll need a dust extractor, and a compressor up to the job. Soda is very dusty while glass beads are, in my opinion, the best all-round media.

I would get the 100 pound tank one that does any media. i have a 17 & 14 cfm compressor and a huge receiver so air wont be a issue i just dont want to waste my money if they are garbage

With the small ones if you don't have a dust extractor it just gets cloudy to quick and you can't see nothing. You spend more time waiting for the dust to settle unless your talking about the portable ones

It looks like you mean a rather large blaster, not a cabinet type.
I've always wanted to get one like that and use a shipping container or a garden shed as a blast room, but I don't have the space.

The only blaster I've used like that was even bigger, and with coarse garnet could blow holes straight through sheetmetal. When I blasted my subframes I had to chase them with the gun around the compound, as they kept getting blown away!
The problem with any non-cabinet type is containing the media and dust, I've blasted in my carport and tried to collect the media to re-use but I lose alot and it also gets rubbish in it, I sieve it, but it still gets dirty

Ah yes, I've played that game before. So much easier doing things that fit in the cabinet!

I know a bloke that did sand blasting stuff with a bucket gun, in a tent on the back lawn. When done, he hosed the sand in.
Yes he did wear a good respirator.
