ok well i finally got the speedo drive gear out  but lost all the oil in the process. the motor did have some sort of running in oil in it so i am just wondering what to put back in it? what is the best oil to use during running in.

Any cheapo 20W/50 will be suitable. I use Valvoline SF 20W/50, Graham Russell gets his cheapo 20W/50 from KMart, sez it's made by Shell..
Don't use fancy oils with lots of wear additives for running in- it'll never bed in properly.
