Looks good at first sight, but just following Vic maybe not. Lets see what's in the fine print & subsequent interpretation by Club Registrars!

The Hitlers that run the clubs aren't going to be very happy with losing their power.
The current system allows members to take their cars on longer journeys as long as they are entered in the clubs day book. This is as well as using the car on advertised club events. There is no limit on the number of journeys. The problem is the way the individual clubs run their own rules.

though it doesn't add much more to what the SMH reported. The proof will be in the detail.

I wonder what Qld will do. Between DTMR & QHMC, they have been procrastinating for years.
This looks a better scheme.

I just need to find a club that will suit me. I'd love to use the NSW mini car club, they require you to be a member for 12Mnths before allowing historic rego. I used to be a member, but let my membership laps when i was no longer attending any events.

Don't join a club, start a club.
It is easier than you think.

And why do you need to be a club member for 12 months before you can have Historic Rego?
They already hold the power over you on when you are aloud to drive your own car.
No concessions with being a previous member. :?
I've been into minis for about 5 years now and I haven't heard a good word said about the Nsw Mini Club. I've met lots of people who where in it and left as they could no longer put up with the social hierarchy.
This is why 95% of the Minis in NSW on Historic Plates are in the Austin Healey Sprite club.
Everyone I know in the Sprite club has nothing but good things to say.

I understand that a little while ago mccnsw changed the need to be a member for a year.. I think in large clubs tension will always exist to meet everyones needs...at least the 60 day log book will free us from the limitations of only published club runs...got to be a win win for All..

Good to see NSW go down this route also, then WA will follow in 10-15 years.
