ok ok, i know we`ve all had discussions before about which head is best blah blah blah
i`m just putting this out there-->
if any of you know the origins/history of this head then let me know what you know ok? (if you could)
i do know a fair bit about it but to trace it back to being one of the earliest of this type "for Sure" would be pretty cool

If the Karcraft Yagoona sticker is any indication it is from the mid 80s.
I wonder if Greg at Karcraft would know?

That sticker brings back memories !

Karcraft started in Smithfield in 1978 and we moved to Yagoona is 1980/1981 where we stayed for 7 years before moving again (we kept running out of space).

I have seen a couple of these heads over the years but I cannot help you with who owned it.

Morris 1100 was pretty close to the timeline.

Hi Karcraft, You were on the Horsley Drive when I first started buying bits from you in 1981.

it`s looking more & more likely that this particular head is actually this one in the pic-->

It was for sale at the Muster. The guy selling it gave me a flyer. I'm certain its the same motor.

Yeah , it was Pete Thompson, (Air & Power tools Toowoomba)
when we were racing Echo Valley (years ago) him & his Brother & Derick Holstein, before his KAD head, were all running this thing around , inc some Mt Cotton & other tracks etc,
i`ve been at him for a long while about it & when he came to see me at the Muster i couldn`t let it go
:-)
So i`ll pull it down & clean it up & make it go Vroom again :-)

nice work. Will make an interesting bit of kit. Graham Bergan is using one on his sports sedan. Give him a call if you want more info on it.

Greg/Matt

Yes we are building the Pinion x flow up again after sitting around ( as they do) for years.

The heads were used in the 1100cc class in UK from memory ( very shallow chambers) they flow well
for circa early 1970's stock standardstuff.... at around 138 CFM untouched.
Many are in poor conditions re corrosion etc as was seen on the one here on ebay recently.

Call me if you want to chat Matt.

I have a photo of a maroon mini sporting one of these with "John bull racing" carved into it, but I can't remember where I saw it. Maybe The owner (John Bull?) might have some info on when he bought his?
