Post subject: | Engine paint colours |
Im sure this has been covered 100's of times before but when i try to search it drops words and isn't helping me too much.. Im looking for a code or colour for the light metallic green cooper s and k 1100 engines were painted. Id like to get it made in Protec 300QD but will take any kind of code anyone can supply and try and convert it, I've tried the usual mini parts stores but they are unwilling to help unless i buy their specific product ( which they can't/won't tell me who makes or what type of paint it is ). Any Help would be appreciated. DD |

Engine colours are on page 16 - viewtopic.php?f=25&t=66469 I assume you understand that "unwilling" Mini parts suppliers invest valuable time and money in providing parts to keep our cars on the road. There's not a lot of profit in such a business these days so they need our support to continue. Why don't you buy a can of paint from one of the suppliers and take a sprayed sample to your paint guru for matching? |

Hey i totally agree, If I can buy local and it makes sense I will every time, when my local supplier wants $50 for 1lt and can't even tell what kind of paint it is he's never going to get that sale... ![]() |

I wouldn't have thought it would be this hard to find engine enamel, I've been to protec/ppg ( who bought dulux ) and they can't help unless i have a sample but my engine has been acid dipped so no luck there, tried two other paint suppliers with no luck, I've given all 3 every paint code i can find on ausmini but my experience so far has been that unless i can give them a modern code ( something from the 90's or later ) they can just type in and mix they don't want to know about it. Any one else have any leads/ help they can offer? |

Metallic green #13261 I use protec as well. When I asked my shop for Snow White #10080 using that code ; it came straight up and he said he could mix it straight away . Now , I didn't ask for the engine colour so I don't know if he would have the same success , but I reckon it's a safe bet if he got the Snow White using a similar code. Let me check tomorrow if he can pull it up . Cheer Simon |
