Hi,

Does anybody know if this can be repaired? The key way has broken away and therefore the door cannot be locked

Or does anybody have one?

Its off the driver side of a morris 65-71

They are pot metal, I don't think are weldable (and yes, I'm a welder).
You need to source a good s/h one, sorry!

you might have good luck with some JB weld, I've done a few things and they're standing up much better than I expected

You could try one of the alloy brazing/soldering type of products. Durafix, muggyweld or alumiweld. They have a lower melting point than real welding, and will bond to alloys like zinc diecast and aluminum alloy.

I've found it quite hard to use though, you have to get the temperature just right or it all just runs off.

this sort of stuff - it's runny when mixed and then sets hard. Hard enough to drill, file etc.

JB weld is a surprisingly good and strong product as long as you can get it to stay where you want it to before it sets

I assume that it is off a wind up window door. If so Flynns Wrecking Yard in Cooma have a number of them still on cars. Wayne is the owner of the yard.
