Attachment: image.jpeg A mate of mine has this hillclimb mini. For years it has been 1275 mini powered. Sometime ago it started to smoke a bit and was down on power somewhat. Then someone game him a bomb Hyundai Excel but the motor was good. Out came the tape measure and yes, this may fit in a mini. He cut the front end off the mini, unbolted the Hyundai front end and motor/gearbox, wheeled it over to the mini and welded it in. Then someone gave him another Hyundai, this time a 1500 twin cam so this was fitted instead. The ECU and wiring was retained and sits in a black garbage bag on the passenger floor. Even retained the bigger wheels. Rough as guts but it goes like crap. This was 2 years ago and has not missed a beat, motor is still standard.

This is one mean mother of a car. I know, I have driven it. Takes off from the line in second gear and it pulls all the way to 8000 RPM's around the Maffra Hillclimb Track. Handles superb. |

Yep, pretty close to standard wheelbase, a bit wider track though. |
