Post subject:  Quality clutch release/thrust bearing

Ladies and gents,

I'm trying to track down the "good" SKF thrust bearing.
As I understand these have been NLA for a while.

Does anyone have a source or reliable alternative?

Cheers
Will

Will,
I think the flat ones both SKF and Timken are pretty much gone.
[edit] Karcraft has the flat one listed in my 06/15 catalog, p/no GRB238#. Not sure if in stock.

I have been using the later design RHP one since 2007, with an orange dot plate.
It is still working good. Car has done over 16,000 miles with it in.
But, note:
1. the clutch height was set properly, the diaphragm spring is flat when assembled.
2. I don't hold the clutch in waiting for the lights.
3. I don't use the clutch pedal for a footrest. :)

If buying late type release bearings, try and get UK made, or at least `made in EEC'.
Or, this one- http://www.minisplus.com.au/classic-min ... ing-7w-5-8

I'd stay away from noname ones.

[edit] PM sent.
