Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering what mods people do when they put wider wheels (say 6" +).

Since the 6x10s went on they fit fairly well but do rub on about 3/4 lock. Only one side at a time rubs - For example, if you're turning right, the left wheel will catch the guard, and vise versa. They just hit the front part of the guard where the backing plate is. I've wide cooper S flare copies with backing plates.

I figure ride height is the easiest solution, raising it up a bit, but presently i've about two finger clearance (which I don't think is that low really).

So what do people suggest to get full lock without scrubbing?

James

How/where do people trim the guards?? I'd be fine doing it, but how do you do it so as not to cut so much into the backing plates for the flares. Any pics of what people do?

Minispares has templates for cutting the guards to fit sportspack arches and 6x13" wheels. It's more extreme than you need but it gives an idea of where needs trimming.
