To all you's with 12 inch wheels on your mini, what do you do with your spare? Carry it with you in an odd out of normal position? leave it at home and carry a branded puncture repair kit?

Carry a 10 inch and use it if I get a flat change it go home and get it fixed :)

Always carried the stock standard 12" with 4 normal wheel nuts in the boot in the 1275 LS when I ran the 12x5" superlites. Can't remember if I tried a 12x5" with tyre in the boot with the big tank that's in the 1275 LS.

If you're running 8.4" brakes and carry a 10" spare it just means you need to swap a rear wheel to the front if you puncture a front. Easy if you use a standard jack!

mmmm, I do have 8.4's. The fact that my 12's are 5 inches wide makes thinks a bit tight with my particular tires. been thinking about making up a bracket to store it vertically and set up a little tool box or cover storage box as well.

I'd just carry a 10" or look for a Rover/1275LS 12" steel rim.

i can tell you that the boot floor pressing is different 10in to 12in, the 12in is kinda a bit bigger ..... stares at the neew rear boot section and ponders how to make it fit .. lol

I very much doubt the 1275LS boot is different to any other Aussie made car?! I could be mistaken though.

I can take photos on the weekend, but I can tell you that a 12x5 super lite, with 160,7X,R12 will not fit in the standard hole, well it does but not well if I remember there was some impedance with the boot lid.

Its difficult to make the wheel well any larger because it has to fit within the curve of the rear rail of the subframe. I have a similar problem with my Traveller which was designed to have a very narrow crossply in the well, and the board covering it won't fit down over a 145 section radial.

1275LS with the BIG tank ran 145/70-12 tyres.
Any bigger profile, even 145-12, and you can't fit a std battery in there. Something to consider if fitting a big tank and 12" rubber.
