Has anyone in the past been asked by the blue slip man to get brake modifications certified. I am happy to do it and think it is a very good idea, what are the forms and fees associated, does anyone know? apart from the usual blue slip cost, yada yada yada. I have the Brake assessment manual printed out and will have a read through, has anyone been through this before? |

The RMS VSI06 on page 8 and 9 details the modifications that can be done with and without certification. As far as I can tell, as long as the parts used are in the same configuration as an equivalent model (eg. Cooper S discs on an 850) it should be OK without certification. http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/roa ... ations.pdf |

But does the disks being vented throw a spanner in the works? I will be talking to the Eng later today to go through a few things, I will make sure to keep all the documentation for those wishing to do it in the future. |

But they're also aftermarket alloy calipers with a different type of drive flange aren't they? Or they might be from a Metro, which should be easier, but still needs checking according to the example above (VT to LC) |
