Van is here, a fair few small rust spots around the place and one of the inner rear doors is eaten through on the inside, but the plan for this one is to treat the rust, and get it driving a a daily driver around town, wont be that fussed if it has a few primer patches on it! down the track it might get a paint job. Engine is a 998, ssems to have a little radiator bolted behind the front grill which is hooked into the cooling system. Is complete, nothing missing. Needs slave cylinder and master cylinders gone through and brakes. THis one has clean oil but has had diesel in the bores so will be drained. Also tank has the rotten fuel smell so will be taken off and cleaned out before I do anything. Will be good for my daily :-)

Same!

What's the rub? How is the floorpan inside? Much to repair other than trim and the doors etc?

Great find! One of the very late vans before end of production too. Hope it doesn't take too much to get it on the road.

Just ran out of light, freed engine, was a bit stuck ( not overly), changed dist cap, fuel, oil, cleaned carby. Got it to fire but timing is way out and need to get fuel going. Tomorrows job, but it did show signs of life!!

So got green machine going just on fuel in the bowl, lots of smoke but haven't run long enough to see if it will clear ( I had oil in cylinders). Can't get fuel to bowl, when I take of line I get nothing not even an air pump? Does this mean swap out fuel pump? I have one in the shed I think. Anyone come across this before?
Cheers,
Steve

Might pay to give the fuel line a blow out with compressed air , does it have a fuel filter on it somewhere that might be blocked ?

So took off fuel pump after work, both fuel lines had holes in them and the fuel pump neither sucks or blows, new parts arrive Friday and I will know if the engine is a keeper or rebuilder :-)

So today I removed all the suspension ready for new front cones and hilos. All brakes came off, will be putting kits through master cylinders and new wheel cylinders all round. The front brake shoes had no linings left at all!!! Radiator is out, and I am waiting on an order of bits to refurb cooling system, brakes and suspension. Driveshafts also out to replace all boots, all rubber was split, lol!! Hoping to have all mechanicals sorted in a month, then a few rust patches to sort, home paint job and on the road :-)

They were on the list, but they look new , no cracks and still very plyable as if they were changed before parked :-)

New means made in the last few months with brakes

I was told by a mechanic once that brakes are only to be looked at by a mechanic cause if you have a smash and the brakes are the fault insurance won't cover you if you cant provide them with a receipt of a mechanic doing them

I don't know if this is crap or not
