Hi all,
I was just wondering if someone out there may have needed to replace the rubber seals in the rear 1/4 windows? If so where were these obtained? By this I mean the thin "U" shaped rubber between the glass and the stainless frame. It's kind of perished and I would be keen on replacing it. Thanks, Jon...

Yes, actually that doesn't look anything like the original rubber! I really meant the rubber between the glass and the stainless frame, not the frame and the body. It looks simply like 1mm thick rubber. Having said this I think I might just give it a once over with windscreen sealant and be done with it..

I've never done it myself, but on the UK forums I've read that a few guys replace it with windscreen mastic or something similar. They use 4 short lengths of the existing rubber, one on each flat side of the glass to align it in the frame, then blob the frame full of mastic, put it the glass and squeeze it all together so that the mastic fills the frame and squeezes out round the glass. Let it dry, then cut neatly around the frame with a razor blade and clean it off.

OK thanks Tim. That sounds about right. I imagine it's more important there than here....! I imagine you could use silicone as well, perhaps just run it around the edge. Would have to be black also I guess...

I would use Sikaflex not silicone sealant.
