standard place for electric fuel pumps is inside the rear subframe... right under the fuel tank

People often rubber mount those solid state pumps, they can be noisy.

S/U pump in standard clamp, on standard bracket, it a bit of rubber inside the clamp. The cheapest fuel filter at the time just happend to be "Cooper"

I like this pump, it makes a few soft ticks when the key is turned, before starting. lets me know it's working, that I have fuel, and that the float valve is not stuck.

I've got ~3mm rubber gasket between the pump and the subframe. like you said it ticks a bit on startup but cant hear it when the car is running.

I don't have a pic atm but I run a Facet solid state 4 psi pump mounted in the rear subframe. Mounted on an old mini lower engine mount to stop the ticking / vibration.

That's a good idea with the rubber gaskets, I think I'll go a Su fuel pump I'm not to fussed with the noise, just want something that's super reliable and maybe if I turbo my engine down the track. Thanks guys for the help!!

Here's mine. It was originally in the boot when I bought the car but the fumes would send me high.
I prefer the square facet pumps but this one is still working ok at the moment.

I like the square Facet pumps they go forever. And no bloody points!!!
Wiring shown was for testing. Mounted on a centre exhaust mount, the hole centres are the same. Just drill 1 hole in the centre web & fit a nyloc nut.

The facet pumps look neat! And they're a bit cheaper than the Su pumps anyone ever go braided lines?

I use good old American made fuel hose. Unleaded fuel doesn't harden it. There is hardly any pressure there so no need for PROPER braided hose and Earl's flare fittings. I'd sooner trust the yankee hose than the `braided' UK rubbish.

Braided hose lasts just as long as normal hose except you can't see when it is about to fail.
