| Post subject: | Identifying Metro Hubs |
I think I have Metro hubs on my car... when i bought it it had metro brakes and to the eye there was positive camber... how do I identify them? i'm sending it in to a mechanic to get a ball joint fixed, but if it is metro ball joints I want to source them for him beforehand as I don't think he'll know what they are? cheers |

I have had what I thought were metro hubs before, the ball joints were a self contained unit that included the seat and the whole lot screwed into the hub rather than then the ball/pin and seat being seperate. |

I could be wrong but I think there were two series of Metro hubs. The later ones used the self contained ball joints and the early ones used ball joints the same as a mini. The king pin inclination is different to a mini. It is further from vertical so the line between ball joint centres is further outboard where it hits the ground. This reduces the kick back in the steering when wider track wheels are used. Great if you have a mini that needs big flares but you need longer bottom arms to suit. M |

If it is the later type balljoints which screw into the hub, they are the same as MG F's rear balljoint I'm 99% sure |
