Hi again. I replaced my rod change seal with one of those anti leak repair kits. It is now leaking again after 2 months. This may be due to the angle of the gear shifter. The whole gearshift assembly looks like it is off centre about an inch but the brackets and cotton reels look to be in there correct positions. Can anyone tell me if this angle normal or will it exert to much side load on the coupling and input shaft? Thanks Brad

The connecting sleeve is a very sloppy fit on the 2 shafts, to cope with this misalignment. It's a poor man's U/J. Which anti-leak kit did you use, Matt Read's one is the best. |

It came in a big buy I did from the UK when I first bought the car. Either Minispares or Minisport. I will give Matts a go next. They have the o-ring inside the bush. All the others have the o-ring on the outside of the bush. |

I've never seen much joy with the UK ones. I've had better results just putting 2 std seals in. But Matt's is supposed to be da bomb! |
