Evening all. How much stick out should I be running on the rear wheel studs? This seems inadequate, but I was given these studs when I asked for ones to suit the finned drums with built in 1" spacer. ![]() . ![]() . ![]() compared to the front: ![]() I know there are different length studs. Should I be sourcing a longer set? |

If i recall correctly 13mm engagement of the nut was the engineering spec ( 1 -11/2 times width of stud) so 3/8 times 1.5 close enough to 13mm.. put your wheel on to be sure |

(btw I am exchanging the alloy wheels I have and I don't want to soil these new rims so I can return it in mint condition) |

the required length of your studs also depends on the wheels and the nuts that you are using in victoria, the roadworthy requirement for wheels/studs/nuts is... Quote: Wheel nuts must engage the thread of the wheel stud for at least the same length as the original wheel nut and have the same taper as the mating wheel stud hole

Totally depends on the wheel/nut combination. Wheels like contessas which use a nut that fits within the rim go close in to the drum. Some other rims like performance superlights, especially ones fitted with steel inserts the wheel nut seats a lot further away from the drum, often needing longer studs. |

Thanks Matt. Just making sure it is around about the standard length as I know the rims will work with a standard length stud. I'll double check the specific size with the wheels when they arrive thanks ![]() |
