Any idea what these are? the first pic is of the firewall where I think the heater attaches to these brackets, but the brackets are held on by pop rivets, im sure its not factory, can anyone show me what it should look like? second pic is of rear parcel shelf there is a small hole in each corner of the parcel shelf, the small hole in primer not the big ugly speaker hole, any idea what the small hole might be for, they're obviously not original but why would some have added these? seat belts maybe? pic 3 is of the rear fire wall back seat panel looking in from boot... what might these captive nuts been added for? pic4 again captive nuts added to the rear parcel tray, riveted in place why might these have been added? thanks in advance. |

You have it all correct. Someone has fitted a metal heater to your car at some point, and there were also seat belts fitted. Those a reinforcing plates to provide some support to the bolts |

Yep - there should also be holes and plates with captive nuts in the rear wheel wells ( behind the rear bins and above the seat base panel for the third seat belt anchor point. Cheers |

They were not standard fitment in the rear until Jan 71 or 72, whether it's legal to remove them now I dunno. |

If you can neaten them up and weld them in, then I think its an investment. There's certainly all the reason to add the capability to carry people in the back everynow and then. Once you trim the car up, its impossible to see them, but you can add the holes in the parcel tray liner at any point in the future. |
