Just wondering if anybody actually does this to this day?

Would I be right in thinking that the amount of weight applied on the 4 attaching points to the roof sills of the roof racks would be a fair bit more than safe?

Curious because I think it would be an awesome idea if I could do it safely without damaging my roof sills

Saw this great setup at the 2014 International Mini Meet.

The Swiss couple said they camp in it all the time. :D

the roof gutter is surprisingly strong
provided that it`s not all rusted away :-)

Jeez, it would bounce around. You'd only have to roll over in bed for your companion to get seasick.
